Under the terms of the agreement, Saltworks Security will not only sell Imperva but also augment its value with advanced security consulting services
ATLANTA – July 23, 2019 – Saltworks Security, an Orasi company, today announced it has entered into a cooperative partnership with Imperva, Inc., a cybersecurity leader championing the fight to secure data and applications wherever they reside. For the agreement, Saltworks Security consultants will sell the Imperva solution to their global customers. Saltworks Security specialists will also add Imperva to the toolset it employs to help firms achieve robust application security at all entry points, providing recommendations, configuration assistance and more.
“As companies shift to more rapid development and deployment approaches like Agile and DevOps, both detecting when an application is under attack and providing protection for these applications is an ever-growing problem,” said Saltworks Security Founder Dennis Hurst. “Our partnership with Imperva and Prevoty (now part of Imperva) will allow Saltworks to provide our customers with world-class Web Application Firewall (WAF) and Runtime Application Security Protection (RASP) solutions that are integral to comprehensive application security.”
With hackers targeting systems every 39 seconds and corporate databases remaining a favored target due to the highly confidential and sensitive information stored there, securing application databases is a critical step in reducing the odds of a breach. Although many organizational leaders recognize the most commonly cited exposure points, such as weak passwords and user gullibility, few understand how extensively hackers are targeting databases directly.
From deployment missteps to database management inconsistencies, organizations are unwittingly increasing the vulnerability of their databases. Imperva locks down what is essentially the “bank vault” of every organization while also enabling firms to more easily meet stringent new regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) requirements.
“Companies with mature application security programs understand that security requires a layered approach to not only find and fix vulnerabilities but also defend applications that may have undiscovered flaws or simply need a little extra time to be fixed,” said Hurst.
